For too many years I did not have a close relationship with God. I did not recognize when He talked to me and if I did recognize Him, I didn’t do what He asked anyway!
My son gave me the book 'Experiencing God' by Henry T. Blackaby and Claude King and I began to understand why my relationship with God was not growing.
I began to rely on God:
I was unemployed in 2003 and each morning I would ask God to show me someone to help that day. He DID! There was someone to help each day for six months. Sometimes it was holding a door, driving a friend to a doctor’s appointment or an interview, giving directions, etc.
One Monday morning, after hearing about an empty position, God told me in an unmistakable voice, that I SHOULD direct a church choir! Yeah, right! The choir and the pianist were great and I did direct the choir because God showed me how-using what I learned in high school music classes!
One spring day in 2006, God nudged me to write a devotion for the church family and friends. That was where I said ‘No!’ What did I know! God gave me two months to recognize that my relationship with Him was not growing. He nudged me again and I asked Him to show me how! He DID!
I had been keeping notes of my personal devotions since 2003 and God reminded me to use those notes! Those notes have long been used, but He continues to put Scriptures in front of me as I need them. I recognized in 2007 that one day there would be enough devotions for a book and ‘The Power of THE WORD’ was published in 2008.
These devotions are not about me! They are written to give glory to God and to encourage you to apply God's Word to your life, your everyday life, little by little.
We rarely make BIG decisions; but the little decisions are the ones that accumulate and in the end we wonder how we got to where we are! God's Word will help you to respond in the right way.
Scriptures generally are not used twice but they are used more often when there are too many thoughts to be included in one devotion.
The devotions use different translations of the Holy Bible and are written to encourage you to recognize and respond to God's voice within your heart, mind, and soul!
It is The Word that will explain how God will forgive you, teach you, guide you, bless you, so you may have a closer relationship with Him.
There is no fee or login to click, copy, print, or pass these devotions or teachings on to your friends and family.
Ezekiel 34:26b And I (God) will send showers, showers of blessings, which will come just when they are needed. NLT
